What a beautiful photo! I'm afraid I'm no artist myself, but I really appreciate the classic pin-up style, the use of Thirds, and the inclusion of the ubiquitous Vespas. I was commenting to my wife that the only thing that distinguishes this photo as modern is the ink on her hip -- and it's very neat to see that one splash of modernity in a classic pin-up.
Pin up aficionados should be pleased with this contribution to the genre. The pose and the composition are just right. Although your predominant strength as a photographer is close-up portraiture, you also have a great sense for how to show the human figure in natural settings.
The colors here are beautiful, both muted and vivid. I like the mixture of the blurred and the sharp in this photo for several reasons, one of which is that it accents the colors.
There's a contrast between shimmer and stillness that gets to the essence of summer. It could easily serve as the launching point for a disquisition on motion, light and the photographic moment--I'll spare you the dubious pleasure of reading one here, but I do want to note that in this photo in particular, your technique is clearly in the service of a thematic purpose. You've made a sublime contribution to the imagistic lore of the Vespa--an accomplishment I hope you're proud of, because it's by no means as trivial as it may sound to those who haven't explored such things. You've found what's transcendent in this scene, which is as much a sensual truth as an intellectual one.
I also don't want to let the erotic aspect of this photo pass without notice. A lot of highly skilled photographers without experience doing pin ups approach the genre without a clear understanding of what makes a pin up erotic, or how desire is coded in the genre. Often I think the tendency is to sacrifice sexiness for humor (or less often the other way around) because it's difficult to do both. That doesn't appear to be a problem for you. I don't know where your understanding comes from, but it's clearly evident. This is both humorous and sexy.
The one great failing of this photo is that you haven't done more work in the genre. Tease!
Absolutely love the model. Gorgeous, beautiful, fantastic! Very nice choice of pose, location looks good, I like the soft tones with the bright highlights in the surroundings. The hair and flower look great, especially since the flower makes the lipstick pop out very well! Great photo, thanks for sharing!
