What makes this work is the attempts to make it a dynamic illusion of sculpture rather than a stiff classical piece. I love the subtle monochrome of magenta that pervades this, presented with tantalizing hints of color. Truly the MUA did a masterful job as the background and lighting was definitely taken into account with the palette. The novel use of the hydrangea blooms as hair and taking the mask off were inspired touches. It has the appearance of the mask falling off and the figure wanting to retrieve it as she stands revealed by its loss in a way that is profoundly different from being merely nude. I like that this picture concentrates on this as a classic torso shot instead of the whole figure. Although I prefer to view the entirety of a sculpture, framing it in this manner really brings out the drama of the piece. Her expression is a multiple of shyness, concern, surprise, and resignation. Kudos to you, the model, and the MUA!
